Job summary

NC State University — University Theatre is seeking to fill a Temporary Event Technician Pool to support backstage and Front-of-House operations for campus events and performances. This role collaborates with Operations, and Technical Directors to ensure safe, engaging theatre experiences for rental clients and audiences.

The position requires flexibility to work nights and weekends, with responsibilities including lighting and sound setup, load-in/load-out, and supervision of ushers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience with lighting and sound for live theatre productions.
• Customer service experience and public relations skills.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with backstage duties including lighting operation and sound reinforcement.
• Serve as house manager for Front-of-House operations in the Theatre spaces.
• Train and supervise ushers.
• Coordinate with stage managers and technical supervisors during performances.
