Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder’s Housing Facilities Services (HFS) seeks a Facility Engineer to manage HVAC, BAS, fire-life safety, and mechanical systems across 150+ buildings. You’ll drive energy conservation, assist in project design, and serve as subject matter expert on multi-disciplinary teams.

With 5+ years’ experience and a Colorado PE, you’ll supervise BAS staff and contribute to LEED and sustainability initiatives within the division of Student Life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
• Active Colorado Professional Engineer license.
• 5 years of experience performing similar job duties.
• 1+ year of supervisory experience.
• Experience with commercial/institutional mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC systems and building performance across campus.
• Lead Building Automation Systems (BAS) program and commissioning activities.
• Support design, drawings, and specifications with project teams.
• Develop and manage scope of work for MEP projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Design/Construction staff.
• Support energy conservation programs and LEED-related initiatives.
• Inspect and supervise commissioning, start-up, and testing of systems.
• Assist in building system replacement/upgrade planning.
