Job summary

HigherEdJobs seeks a Director of Facilities Management to oversee auxiliary services, including custodial, repairs and maintenance, mailroom, events, and contracted services for waste, recycling, and pest control. The role ensures safe, well‑maintained campus operations and guides third‑party vendors per university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
• Two to three years of demonstrated contract bidding and negotiation and/or construction and supervision.
• A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicant’s credentials.

Responsibilities

• Confer and coordinate with service vendors on scheduling and provision of contracted building and grounds maintenance services, monitor work for quality and contract compliance.
• Coordinate work with senior campus leaders and external partners to establish efficient service requests, events, and emergency responses.
• Draft and review contracts for bidding, awarding, and sole-source documentation as required and advise the CFO.
• Oversee contracts for Facilities, Food Service, and Print Shop; manage invoices and compliance with terms.
