Job summary

Hillsdale College is seeking a Custodian to support the Custodial Services team. Under supervision, you will perform manual cleaning and maintenance duties to provide a clean, safe environment across campus buildings.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, floors, windows, and furniture; replacing lights; maintaining supplies, processing work orders, and reporting deficiencies. The role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience or knowledge to perform job duties is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restroom fixtures, hardware, tile, mirrors, partitions, floors, and the like, replacing restroom supplies as needed.
• Dust, sweep, vacuum, and/or mop floors; scrub/strip, extract, bonnet and maintain floors.
• Wash and clean windows, furniture.
• Replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes up to 6 feet high with safety training.
• Maintain building supply inventory and fulfill work orders and time entry reports.
• Identify repairs and report deficiencies; respond to safety concerns.
• Ensure building security and check for fire hazards.
• Snow removal from entrances and steps.
• Attend Environmental Health and Safety trainings.
• Assist in special furniture set-ups for college events.
