Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago is seeking a Director of Auxiliary Services to oversee day-to-day campus facilities operations, including maintenance, janitorial, mailroom, reprographics and event support. The role requires strategic leadership of staff and vendors to ensure clean, safe and well-maintained learning environments.

Responsibilities include budgeting, contract management, and coordinating with multiple offices to align service levels with district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Five years of work experience in facility maintenance, business affairs or similar operational areas in higher education.
• Administrative experience in the management of the daily operations of a college or comparable organization.
• Previous supervisory experience with proven leadership capabilities.
• Combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicant’s credentials.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Directs daily operations of maintenance and housekeeping staff, schedules shifts and inspects work for cleanliness and safety.
• Coordinates with service vendors and contracts for building and grounds maintenance, ensuring quality and contract compliance.
• Collaborates with President’s Office, Safety and Security, engineers and district staff to optimize service delivery and response to requests.
• Prepares facility space use agreements and coordinates event room assignments per policies.
• Oversees mail, reprographics and records storage, ensuring accurate processing and inventory control.
• Monitors budgets, prepares annual reports and assists in operating budget development.
