California State University, Long Beach seeks a University Events & Commencement Specialist to plan and deliver high-profile university events and commencement ceremonies, coordinating timelines, budgets, logistics, vendors, and campus partners.

This temporary, full-time role requires a bachelor’s degree with three years’ related experience, strong communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Drupal, InDesign, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience required.
• Occasional evenings, weekends, and ability to access off-site event.

Responsibilities

• University Commencement: Coordinate and implement assigned planning and operational activities for University Commencement ceremonies. Develop and maintain project timelines, communication plans, logistics, campus and vendor coordination, registration, ticketing, guest management, ceremony programs, rehearsals, and related events.
• University Events: Coordinate assigned University Relations events from intake through execution. Consult with event requesters; develop event plans, budgets, timelines, and logistics; coordinate campus partners and vendors; and ensure adherence to university policies and approved plans.
