Job summary

James Madison University is seeking a 12-month Institutional Chauffeur to support shuttle services for campus events, airport runs, and university functions. The role requires a CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and flexibility to work college schedules both weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities include long- and short-distance driving, pre/post-trip DOT inspections, trip planning, and accurate travel logs.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills.
• Good driving record with a CDL w/ passenger endorsement and medical certificate.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work with faculty and students.
• Extensive experience driving coaches/buses.
• Know coach/bus operations, components, routing, logs, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional driving on in-state and out-of-state trips.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT requirements.
• Ensure vehicles are cleaned and serviced for trips.
• Plan trips for most efficient routing.
• Maintain accurate travel logs.
• Maintain safe driving and avoid collisions.
• Wear proper uniform as required.
• Provide trip information for software data collection.
• Complete annual software training.
• Foster open, respectful relationships with colleagues.
