Job summary

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is hiring temporary/on-call Bartenders for Rohr's in our campus Hospitality department. The position supports university events with friendly, high-energy service.

Requirements include bartending experience, ability to obtain a bartender license, Indiana age compliance, excellent communication, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Pay is $8.78/hr plus tips. Notre Dame is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience preferred; knowledge of drink recipes and bar operations required.
• Ability to obtain a bartending license.
• Must meet the minimum legal age requirement to serve alcohol in Indiana.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• A positive attitude and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Mix and serve a wide variety of beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
• Greet and interact with guests in a courteous and engaging manner, taking drink and limited food orders while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Keep the bar stocked with necessary supplies, monitor inventory levels, and communicate restocking needs to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized bar area and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards—as well as university and state alcohol service regulations.
• Process credit card transactions using a POS system and ensure proper card handling procedures.
