Job summary

Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a College Events Associate to assist with a range of office and event tasks. The role requires federal work-study eligibility and a commitment of at least 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities include supporting events, inventorying academic attire, drafting communications, and assisting with Convocation planning and execution. This is an on-site student position with opportunities to contribute to college events and projects.

Qualifications

  • Must have been awarded federal work-study for the term in which a work-study position is being sought
  • Must be a TC student currently enrolled in a degree program and taking at least 5 credits during the fall/spring semesters
  • Must abide by Teachers College policies including FERPA and privacy requirements
  • Minimum commitment of 2 semesters

Responsibilities

  • Oversee organization of office and event supplies
  • Support internal events and pack supplies
  • Inventory Convocation Academic Attire Lottery Program materials
  • Draft emails and make calls on behalf of the College Events Office
  • Assist with Convocation preparations and ceremonies
  • Support general office functions and special projects
  • Assist with program planning and execution
  • Maintain website, communications, and database
  • Answer phones and emails as part of clerical duties
