Job summary

Lipscomb University in Nashville seeks a student worker to assist Event Management with on-campus setup and strike for The Gathering. Shifts run 6:00 AM–8:30 AM and 11:55 AM–1:15 PM, with potential for both. This position involves hands-on, physical labor and teamwork to prepare Allen Arena and other venues as needed.

Responsibilities include interpreting setup diagrams, communicating with coordinators, and maintaining safety while moving furniture. Federal Work Study may be available.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Event Set Up & Strike Coordinators to prepare Allen Arena for The Gathering by physically setting the needed furniture based on client’s needs.
• Work with the Event Set Up & Strike Coordinators to prepare various other event venues on-campus as other needs arise, if available/interested.
• Communicate effectively with Event Set-Up & Strike Coordinators regarding schedule and availability.
• Interpret set-up diagrams and Banquet Event Orders (BEO) with event set-up information.
• Ability to push, pull and lift moderate to heavy weight throughout each shift.
• Ability to stand and be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Arrive promptly to assigned shifts.
• Maintain a positive manner with team members, guests, and clients.
