Job summary

BEST Crowd Management is seeking an Event Security professional for the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. You will blend event staff duties with security tasks to keep attendees safe and provide excellent service.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old (age requirements may vary by local regulations).
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
• Previous experience in event security or related field is advantageous.
• Strong physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.
• Possess a valid security license or be willing to obtain one if required.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup including equipment and signage placement.
• Monitor access points and conduct security checks for attendee safety.
• Provide friendly customer service and direct attendees as needed.
• Collaborate with staff and security to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with crowd management and control entry/exit flow.
• Respond to security incidents following established protocols.
• Enforce event rules and safety procedures in all areas.
• Handle attendee complaints calmly and professionally.
