Job summary

College of Charleston seeks a Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep of campus buildings and equipment. Under general supervision, you will perform skilled trade duties with moderate difficulty, including painting, pressure washing, and building upkeep, across various campus locations.

Responsibilities include assisting with event moves and furniture relocation, following safety procedures, and maintaining records of repairs and installations.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of basic hand tools, equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance, painting, and moves.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with faculty, students and staff.
• Must follow oral and written instructions and complete records related to repairs, installations, event support, and moves.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance including painting, pressure washing, and building upkeep across campus facilities.
• Assist with event support moves and furniture relocation as needed.
• Move and set up furniture/equipment for events, ensure timely completion of work orders, and follow safety procedures.
