The Event / Facilities Setup Technician at Albany State University supports campus life by preparing venues for events and transporting furniture and equipment across campuses. The role requires physical stamina and a collaborative approach to ensure classrooms, conference spaces, athletic venues, and special event spaces are set up safely and accurately.

The position reports to the Campus Services Manager and the Assistant Director of Facilities Management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety and environmental practices.
• Sufficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Requires excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to move heavy equipment or furniture safely.

Responsabilités

• Load, transport, assemble and unload heavy furniture and equipment for events.
• Arrange tables, chairs, stages and podiums per diagrams and safety codes.
• Dismantle setups promptly after events wrap up.
• Operate basic power tools and equipment as needed.
• Follow safety protocols when lifting and operating state vehicles.
• Interact professionally with faculty, staff, students, and guests to accommodate changes.
• Site cleanup and disposal of packing materials.
