Job summary

The University of Houston System's Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) is seeking a dependable student to support daily operations in the Student Lounge and across the department. You will greet visitors, assist with events, handle clerical tasks, and help manage the Locker Rental Program.

Ideal candidates are UHD students with a 2.5 GPA or higher, available 20 hours per week, and able to lift up to 25 lbs. This role offers hands-on leadership and administrative experience on campus.

Qualifications

• Must be a UHD student with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
• Available to work 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform light physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Monitor the Student Lounge to maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive space.
• Support Locker Rental Program and equipment check-outs.
• Answer department phone lines and relay messages.
• Perform clerical tasks including copying, scanning, filing, and data entry.
• Assist with planning and execution of SLI events, workshops, and initiatives.
• Run errands to various campus locations.
• Assist with social media content creation or student engagement.
• Open and close the lounge area and follow safety protocols.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
