Job summary

The University of Houston System is seeking a dependable student to support daily operations in the Student Lounge and throughout the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement. The role offers hands-on experience in leadership, communication, and administrative tasks in a student-centered environment.

Requirements include current UHD student status, Federal Work-Study eligibility, a minimum 2.5 GPA, and the ability to work up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UHD student.
• Must have been awarded Federal Work-Study from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
• Monitors the Student Lounge and enforces lounge policies.
• Supports Locker Rental Program and equipment check-outs.
• Answers department phone lines and provides general information.
• Performs clerical tasks including copying, scanning, filing, and data entry.
• Assists with events, workshops, and student organization initiatives.
• Opens/closes lounge area and follows safety protocols.
• Participates in staff meetings and trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
