Job summary

Pacific University seeks a skilled electrician to maintain, operate, and repair campus electrical systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, installing new and retrofit electrical and data applications, and coordinating with contractors.

Strong knowledge of codes and safety is essential, with leadership duties possible. Required are 5 years of electrical experience, a valid Oregon driver’s license, and an Oregon General Journeyman license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of overall electrical working experience.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License.
• Current and valid electrical license in Oregon (minimum General Journeyman).
• General Supervisor’s license is preferred.
• HVAC control experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and general repairs to new or existing installations on campus.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions.
• Install electrical and data applications or retrofit those that do not meet user needs.
• Advise on construction projects done by contractors regarding electrical work.
• Maintain awareness of electrical codes and keep a log of work.
• Respond to safety and emergency situations affecting students, faculty, and staff.
• May lead or instruct other workers and coordinate with outside contractors.
• Operate lifts and use hand and power tools to fabricate materials.
