Job summary

Edgewood College is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician – Electrical to maintain and repair campus electrical and lighting systems, including controls, ballasts, and lamps. You will work independently and with the Facilities Operations team to improve reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and collaboration with campus stakeholders to plan upgrades and meet university standards while supporting on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Trade school electrical program completed or five years' experience in electrical and lighting maintenance preferred.
• Experience with commercial or institutional building electrical systems preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and successful university MVR check.
• Working knowledge of building electrical systems and components.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and lighting systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• On-call availability; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair campus electrical and lighting systems and upgrade lighting where needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on lighting systems and replace lamps, ballasts, fixtures, and controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues and coordinate with Contractors as needed.
• Enter work orders and maintain maintenance records in the system.
• Assist with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide support to facilities staff and participate in on-call rotations.
