Job summary
California State University San Marcos is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to assist the Director in developing, implementing and maintaining programs that ensure a safe environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors, and to ensure operations comply with Cal/OSHA and applicable rules.
The role requires providing guidance on environmental, food safety, occupational and laboratory safety and supporting research activities in laboratories and hazardous areas.
Qualifications
- Experience developing, implementing and maintaining EH&S programs.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Cal/OSHA) and best practices.
- Ability to provide guidance on environmental, food safety, occupational and laboratory safety.
Responsibilities
- Environmental compliance, food safety and sanitation, occupational and laboratory safety initiatives.
- Provide guidance and consultation to manage hazardous materials and environmental compliance.
- Advocate for a strong safety culture and support university research activities in laboratories and hazardous areas.
