Job summary

Utah State University seeks a Supervisory Cook for Aggie Commons to lead a fast-paced campus kitchen, prepare meals to standard recipes, and ensure safety and quality for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

You will manage shifts, collaborate with Dining Services teammates, monitor inventory, and help deliver excellent service while upholding USU's standards.

This on-campus role offers a collaborative environment with opportunities to grow culinary skills and contribute to USU's dining mission.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience required.
• Advanced knife handling skills required.
• Proficiency with cooking techniques and food preparation.
• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Lead team with motivation and fair shift assignment.
• Manage cost control through yield and waste and inventory management.
• Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to recipes and schedules.
• Ensure all food is prepared and served in compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and workstations.
• Assist with inventory rotation and FIFO storage practices.
• Monitor ingredient quality and report concerns to supervisors.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient meal production and customer service.
• Support events, catering, and daily dining operations as assigned.
