Job summary

Utah State University’s Dining Services is seeking a Catering Cook to prepare meals for university events and assist with the Aggie Marketplace. This role supports event catering and maintains high standards of food safety and presentation.

This role requires food safety knowledge, willingness to work flexible hours, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. On-campus location offers a friendly team, competitive pay, and opportunities to learn skills that last a lifetime.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years catering cooking experience or 3-4 years restaurant line cook experience.
• Available to work Monday-Saturday as needed for scheduled events.
• Food Handler's Permit required within first 30 days of employment.
• Knowledge of care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils.
• Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and necessary precautions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for events for University Catering and Aggie Marketplace support.
• Ensure proper food handling procedures and adhere to quality expectations.
• Keep work stations clean, orderly, and sanitized.
• Plate and present food as specified for each event.
• Cook meats, sauces, starches, and vegetables.
• Help other areas during busy times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
