Job summary

Vanderbilt University is seeking a Manager for Vanderbilt Campus Dining to lead dining operations on campus, overseeing food service, staff, and menu processes. You will drive a high-quality, nutritious dining program while ensuring health and safety standards are met and guest expectations are exceeded.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage labor, scheduling, and customer interactions.

Qualifications

High school diploma is necessary.
Associate's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
At least 3 years of management experience in food service management is necessary.
Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and POS System is necessary.
Strong communication, time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills are necessary.
Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service is necessary.
Ability to manage people and have accountability for Vanderbilt assets is necessary.

Responsibilities

Promote the vision and core values of Vanderbilt Campus Dining and ensure policy compliance.
Develop labor schedules and manage the Oracle time management system.
Oversee menu management, ingredient, recipe, and inventory processes.
Direct hourly staff and provide coaching and performance evaluations.
Ensure food safety, sanitation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Communicate with customers and stakeholders and foster relationships.
