Job Description Overview

The Food Service Worker position will be located at a higher education setting. The food server performs a variety of responsibilities related to preparing and serving food in accordance with the daily menu and recipe standards; engaging students, teachers and parents in Genuine Foods’ mission. Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications.
  • Prepare raw ingredients for cooking and food production.
  • Prepare, assemble, and serve pizza, salads, deli sandwiches, and other menu offerings while maintaining presentation and quality standards.
  • Stock and replenish pizza, salad, and deli stations with fresh ingredients throughout service.
  • Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and portion control procedures at all times.
  • Follow the direction of the Culinary Lead at all times.
  • Coordinate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Cook and assemble menu items according to established standards.
  • Stock, organize, and maintain kitchen and food service areas.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, cooking utensils, equipment, and service areas.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Alert the Culinary Lead of any workplace issues or operational concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be flexible and team-oriented.
  • 1–3 years of food service or customer service experience in a medium- to high-volume food service operation or restaurant.
  • Experience preparing or serving pizza, salads, deli items, or similar made‑to‑order food is preferred.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to remain calm in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Punctual and able to adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs as needed.
  • Interest in and commitment to Genuine Foods' mission of using food to help students enhance their minds, bodies, and overall well‑being.
  • Must be able to work in a school environment.
