Job summary

UNI Dining at the University of Northern Iowa is hiring a Cook I to support meals in the student dining center. Under direct supervision, you will prepare quality foods, assist with meal service, and help maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

This regular, full-time position follows the academic year (August–May) with a 10:30 am–7:30 pm schedule on weekdays and rotating weekends. Starting wage is $18.27 per hour, with benefits available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Must be organized and able to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality foods for meals in the student dining center.
• Clean and secure kitchen areas following meal preparation.
• Direct student and temporary employees in the service of prepared food and kitchen cleaning.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
