Sodexo is hiring a Cook at Kansas State University. The role entails preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a range of hot and cold items for meals and events, in a fast-paced kitchen. You will follow Sodexo’s culinary standards while ensuring safety and sanitation in a clean workstation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts.
• Estimate production needs and requisition supplies/equipment.
• Walk/stand for extended periods; lift up to 35 lbs, occasionally 50 lbs.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as needed.
