Job summary

Carleton College in Northfield, MN is seeking a full-time Custodian in the Custodial Services department. You will perform cleaning and disinfecting, lock/unlock doors, maintain floors, remove trash, and assist in training student employees to support a safe campus environment.

The position offers a union wage of $27.18 per hour with a one-year training period during which wages may be adjusted. The college provides a generous benefits package including a pension plan, health coverage, paid time

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and in a team
• Must be neat in appearance and performance of duties
• Able to follow oral and written directions (labels) and read basic instructions
• Able to interact with a diverse campus community
• General computer knowledge (Email, Calendar, Google Docs, Zoom, Work Orders)

Responsibilities

• Lock and unlock interior and exterior doors as directed
• Vacuum and spot clean carpets and upholstery
• Maintain inventory and supply orders
• Clean lavatories, locker rooms, kitchens and common areas
• Move supplies and furniture as directed and set rooms per custodial sheet
• Assist with snow removal and grounds upkeep as needed
• Assist in training student employees
• Perform pest control duties and ensure safety of equipment
