Job summary

The Department of Student Housing at the University of California, Irvine is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming living spaces across housing facilities. This role supports learning-centered environments by performing daily cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep tasks to high standards.

The position requires reliability, ability to work independently or in a team, willingness to work overtime or weekends, and adherence to UC policies.

Qualifications

• Must communicate with staff, supervisors and residents.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling.
• Custodial or related cleaning experience required.
• Must be able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Daily floor care, dusting, bathroom and kitchen cleaning.
• Cleaning of fixtures, furniture, and interior trash removal.
• Window cleaning and occasionally overtime or weekend work.
• Support after-hours emergency responses and maintain high cleanliness.
