Job summary

University of California, Irvine's Student Housing department is seeking a Custodian to clean facilities across housing communities, including floors, bathrooms, kitchens, and fixtures. Overtime and weekend work may be required to keep spaces at a high standard of cleanliness.

Applicants should have English communication skills, custodial experience, and the ability to follow instructions. Background checks and after-hours responses may apply, with shifts seven days a week in some cases.

Qualifications

• Communicate with staff, supervisor and residents.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Work independently or in a team.
• Follow instructions and safety rules.
• English proficiency for instruction/records.
• Custodial or related cleaning experience.
• Preferred: order supplies.
• Preferred: report damages.
• Overtime/weekend work may be required.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Clean facilities as assigned, including floors, bathrooms, kitchens.
• Clean fixtures, dust, empty trash, wash windows.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies when needed.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
