Job summary

Harvard University FAS Human Resources is seeking a part-time Custodian at Smith Campus Center in Cambridge, MA. The role covers cleaning and maintaining academic and public spaces, restroom sanitation, waste removal, floor care, and occasional heavier tasks as needed.

The 20-hour weekly shift runs Sunday, Monday, and Thursday–Saturday, 6:00 am to 10:00 am. Candidates should have at least 1 year of cleaning experience, solid English communication, and the ability to work on-site with Harvard

Qualifications

• 1 year of cleaning industry experience required.
• Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing and speaking).
• Strong customer service and clear communication in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized cleaning of offices, dormitories, laboratories, libraries, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sanitize bathroom surfaces and food handling areas; restock consumables daily.
• Operate floor machines, vacuums, and light maintenance equipment as needed.
• Assist with snow removal, moves, and occasional overtime; maintain safety protocols.
