Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Building Attendant II for part-time work on the UT Main Campus. The role supports daily custodial operations across campus facilities, ensuring cleanliness, readiness for events, and adherence to safety protocols.

The position is non-exempt and part-time with weekly 19 hours. Responsibilities include floor care, restroom maintenance, room setups for events, and general facility maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production, or facilities maintenance.
• Experience following basic work instructions.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the area outside the facility remains neat and clean.
• Assist with floor care, including shampooing carpets, scrubbing floors and stripping and finishing floors.
• Clean, stock and maintain the male and female restrooms.
• Assist with room set-ups and breakdowns for special events.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and remove trash throughout the facility.
• Follow job requirements, and direction from building supervisors.
• Use proper cleaning materials, correctly operate janitorial equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Other duties as assigned by the building supervisors.
