Job summary

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) invites applications for an entry-level Custodian I position responsible for maintaining clean classrooms, restrooms, offices and laboratories across campus.

You will perform dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and basic floor care, with opportunities to work in dorms and study spaces. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are preferred; no supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial maintenance in classrooms, restrooms, dorms, offices, and labs across campus.
• Clean hallways, stairwells, and floor mats on a scheduled frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).
• Wash windows, walls, trash cans, glass, and doors.
• Move and replace furniture and equipment for cleaning as needed.
• Attend departmental meetings and training courses.
• May drive a university car, truck, or golf cart for assigned tasks.
• Collect and dispose of daily trash and recyclables.
• Report any damage to structures or equipment to the supervisor.
