Job summary

The State of Georgia seeks a Full-time Custodian for Columbus Technical College. The role involves general cleaning, maintenance, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals to ensure a clean, safe campus environment.

The position requires physical work including lifting, with opportunities for growth and a solid benefits package. Preference is given to candidates with a High School Diploma or GED and some custodial experience.

Qualifications

• No minimum requirements for experience.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 months’ work experience in custodial services.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods (carpet, tile, hardwood).
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper care of facilities; Provides routine maintenance of grounds.
• Clears storm drains and traps of debris.
• Performs duties such as painting, replacing light bulbs, hanging curtains, moving furniture, setting up chairs/tables/lights for events.
• Distributes and maintains materials, tools and equipment.
• Clean bathrooms, classrooms, hallways and other areas of the facility.
• Use various chemicals safely and store them properly.
