Job summary

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking Custodian for multiple openings on the Worcester campus across various shifts. These union positions offer excellent benefits and long-term stability in a role that supports a welcoming campus environment.

You will perform custodial services in both academic and non-academic buildings, maintaining assigned areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition while ensuring facilities are ready for events and daily use.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED.
• Must pass CORI and driver’s license checks.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (powered and non-powered).
• Three professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments from a supervisor, verbal or written.
• Maintains floors, walls, bathrooms, and other facilities per procedures.
• Unlocks/locks interior and exterior doors as assigned.
• Operates and maintains custodial equipment.
• Sets up facilities for sponsored events and returns them to original state.
• Lifts up to 60 lbs as needed.
