Job summary

Community College of Rhode Island is seeking custodial staff to perform cleaning and simple maintenance across campus facilities. The roles include two shifts at the Warwick Campus, typically Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, and one shift Tuesday–Saturday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, with campus and hours varying as needed.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors and surfaces, restrooms, offices and common areas, trash removal, stocking supplies, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Education: completion of eight school grades.
• Experience: basic cleaning and custodial tasks.
• Or any combination of education and experience equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, walls, restrooms, offices, dining areas, and public spaces across campus facilities.
• Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables and other wastes.
• Move or assist in moving office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Spray and fumigate for insects when directed.
• Provide washrooms with soap, paper products and supplies and restock as needed.
• Observe and report unusual situations on property and grounds.
• Operate buffers, vacuums and floor machines.
• Wash interior and exterior windows and maintain equipment after use.
