Job summary

The University of Washington Seattle campus is seeking a full-time Custodian for the first shift (5:00 am – 1:30 pm). The role involves cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and common areas, maintaining floors, and handling cleaning chemicals safely. You will also secure buildings and report maintenance needs.

Regular attendance is required, and applicants must be able to follow instructions in English. Physical ability to perform tasks and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and/or verbal instructions and communicate in English regarding the use of chemicals, supplies and equipment; comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Basic computer skills (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms/shower rooms and fixtures.
• Use and maintain assigned cleaning equipment and tools.
• Lock and unlock buildings and secure premises when facilities are not in use.
• Follow written/verbal instructions and safety policies; report maintenance needs.
• May operate high-pressure washer and perform floor stripping/buffing.
• Perform related duties as required.
