Job summary

The University of Washington Medical Center is hiring a Custodian to maintain cleanliness across residence halls, restrooms, kitchens and common areas. You will also support facilities turnover, setup for events, and basic security checks, reporting issues as they arise.

Ideal candidates have custodial experience, strong English communication, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail. A WA driver’s license is preferred, and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, housekeeping, or related facilities maintenance work.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Valid Washington State driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Custodial Services: clean residence halls, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas; maintain floors and surfaces.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment; replenish supplies and ensure safety and sanitation standards.
• Facilities Support: prepare facilities for occupancy and turnover, arrange furnishings, manage inventory.
• Security & Reporting: conduct basic checks and report maintenance needs and safety concerns.
