Job summary

San Angelo ISD seeks a Head Custodian to supervise custodial operations and maintain safe, clean buildings and grounds at the San Angelo area sites. The role includes managing cleaning schedules, equipment inventory, and basic repairs to support daily activities and events.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and can read and follow cleaning, safety, and maintenance instructions. This is a 12-month, non-exempt, full-time position reporting to the Custodial Supervisor/Assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain a cleaning schedule for classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, auditoriums, gyms, and offices.
• Maintain clean buildings and grounds including walkways, parking lots, and athletic facilities.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Regulate HVAC systems for comfort and efficiency.
• Make minor repairs and report major repairs to the principal or supervisor.
• Assist with setup for daily activities or events; move tables and chairs as directed.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure safety and health of students and staff.
