Job summary

Clear Creek ISD is seeking a Lead Custodian at Brookwood Elementary in Houston, TX. This full-time role oversees campus custodial operations, trains staff, and ensures safety, cleanliness, and efficient building operations in alignment with district standards.

The successful candidate will manage timecards, inventory, and maintenance tasks, while fostering a positive, customer-service oriented environment for students, staff, and community partners. Availability for after-hours work is expected.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building/grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.
• Ability to interface with staff, students, and community.
• Ability to work flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and direct the work of custodians at assigned campus.
• Help in the scheduling and training of custodians.
• Plan, oversee, and participate in all custodial work, maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
• Monitor the timecards of custodial employees.
• Maintain an inventory and order custodial supplies.
• Promote safety and security of the building.
• Be available for after-hours demands.
• Support district energy management and IPM programs.
• Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communications.
