Job summary

USD Facilities Management seeks a Custodial Supervisor I to oversee about 30 custodial staff, ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of our campus buildings in Vermillion, SD. The role involves coordinating daily activities, safety, and quality of service while working closely with staff, students, faculty, and other campus customers.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of supervisory experience, strong knowledge of custodial practices, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of supervisory experience
• Knowledge of custodial practices, equipment, and chemicals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate staff
• Ability to deal with personnel matters and conflicts

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of approximately 30 custodial personnel
• Ensure presentation and cleanliness of campus academic buildings
• Interact with staff, customers, students and faculty on campus
• Plan, coordinate, and ensure timely and safe delivery of custodial services
