Job summary

The Custodial Services department within USD Facilities Management is seeking a Custodial Supervisor I to supervise and coordinate the activities of approximately 30 custodial personnel in Vermillion, SD. The role focuses on presenting clean, well-maintained academic buildings and involves collaboration with staff, customers, students, and faculty on campus.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience, knowledge of custodial practices, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• One to three years of supervisory experience that includes direct supervision of staff.
• Knowledge of custodial practices, equipment, chemicals and materials.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to supervise, train and evaluate staff in a fair, planned manner.
• Ability to address personnel matters and conflict.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of ~30 custodial staff.
• Maintain quality custodial services and campus cleanliness.
• Interact with staff, customers, students and faculty on campus.
• Ensure well-planned, timely and safe delivery of custodial services.
