Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook for Prairie View A&M University. You will prepare hot and cold items for all meal periods and events, following Sodexo's culinary standards. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent, 0–2 years of related experience, and the ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised. Flexible shifts, full-time hours, and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation and kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for items across meals and events.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Significant walking or other mobility required; stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; up to 35 pounds frequently.
• Attend scheduled shifts on time and perform other duties as assigned.
