Job summary

Sodexo at SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY is seeking a Cook to prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for all meals and events, following Sodexo culinary standards. The role requires accuracy, speed, and attention to food safety in a fast-paced kitchen.

Full-time position with weekday afternoon/evening shifts. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 0–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items according to culinary standards.
• Follow recipes and product directions for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods.
• Estimate food requirements and manage production and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure safety and sanitation.
