Job summary

Portland State University’s Capital Projects & Construction (CPC) is hiring a Construction Project Manager to lead full‑cycle project management for capital projects under $5M. You will supervise design consultants, contractors, and CPC staff, ensuring quality, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

The role emphasizes sustainability, accessibility, and collaboration with campus partners in downtown Portland. Remote work is limited to 1 day per week.

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience managing construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing needs.
  • Experience with RFPs, schedules, pay apps, and change orders.
  • Familiarity with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, design, and construction of capital projects under $5M.
  • Interview, hire, and direct design consultants and contractors.
  • Coordinate with CPC architects, engineers, and staff to execute projects from concept to completion.
  • Support larger, more complex projects as needed.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
