Job summary

Portland State University’s Capital Projects & Construction (CPC) department is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead full‑cycle capital projects with a sustainability focus. You will oversee planning, design and construction, coordinate consultants and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience managing construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong judgment, negotiation, problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with contract processes, RFPs, pay apps and change orders.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling software (MS Project) and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, design and construction of capital projects under $5M.
  • Coordinate design consultants and contractors from conception to completion.
  • Interact with CPC architects, engineers, and staff to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
  • Assist with larger, more complex projects when needed.
