Job summary

Alvin ISD is seeking a skilled equipment operator to drive, control, and service heavy-duty machinery across school campuses. The role focuses on maintaining grounds and facilities, supporting safe, efficient campus development and use.

The position requires the ability to read gauges, follow verbal and written instructions in English, and coordinate with on-site teams to ensure smooth operation and quick problem resolution.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas Driver's license (Class C)
• CDL license a plus
• Other heavy equipment licensure if required
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Hand & foot coordination operating multiple levers, buttons, pedals and controls at the same time
• Ability to read gauges, dials and other indicators and react mechanically to what you are seeing.
• Coordinate your actions with others workers on busy job sites.
• Ability to detect and fix operating problems.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment
• Knowledge of basic vehicle operation and maintenance
• Familiar with electronic work order systems

Responsibilities

• Drive, control and service heavy duty construction equipment to maintain campus facilities.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations to support campus development and safety.
