  • Immediately report any serious incident to the proper authority and provide incident assistance as directed.
  • Check for maintenance problems and safety/security concerns while completing patrols.
  • Complete duty reports, incident reports, and injury reports as needed.

Summary of Position

Under supervision of the Campus Community Safety Coordinator, performs a wide variety of college campus safety services using a community-oriented campus safety model to prevent violence and theft, to provide access to college facilities, and to respond to incidents affecting campus safety and security. Serves as field training officer to mentor student security officers and provide training on building-level patrol procedures. Will engage in enforcing the rules and regulations governing students, faculty, and staff with superior customer service and ethical integrity.

The Campus Safety Officer position is a non-sworn position and is not authorized to carry a firearm or make arrests.

Shifts may include overnights and weekends. This position is a part-time/flexible position and could work up to 20 hours/week with the ability to pick up on-call shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 18 years old at time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in security, law enforcement or corrections
Required Certification/Licenses:
  • Valid Driver's License at time of hire

This position reports to: Campus Community Safety Coordinator

Hourly salary range based on education and experience: $17.75
