Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is seeking a growth-minded Chef Manager at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT. You will oversee both culinary and food service operations, driving quality, cost control and local sourcing.

The role emphasizes menu development, sustainability and strong P&L accountability with contract foodservice experience preferred. Reports to the Director of Operations; location is on-site at the university.

Qualifications

• Three years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining or restaurant operations.
• Extensive knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation and presentation.
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service desirable.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Full culinary management of the food service operation, including inventory, ordering and receiving.
• Ensure cost controls and budget adherence with local sourcing focus.
• Develop menus and manage purchasing and inventory.
• Demonstrate a passion for sustainability in operations.
