Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring immediately for full-time CHEF positions at Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Science in Albany, NY. The role requires 3 years of culinary experience in higher education or restaurant settings, with a pay range of $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Schedule is full-time, days and hours may vary, and online applications are accepted. Directs and coordinates kitchen staff, ensures sanitation and quality, and maintains inventory and menus under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coordinates and participates in cooks and other associates in preparing, cooking and serving food.
• Ensures food handling, sanitation and customer service standards are met.
• Supervises hourly kitchen staff, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training and discipline.
• Efficiently prepares high-quality food items according to recipes to meet production schedules.
• Ensures proper presentation, food quality, portion control and serving temperatures.
• Tracks food use, waste and consumption to requisition or purchase products.
• Receives and inspects products and supplies for quality and quantity to ensure inventory.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils and cleans workstation before leaving.
• Helps select and develop recipes and menus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
