Job summary

Elior Independent School Dining in Charlotte is seeking an experienced Campus Chef to supervise and participate in meal preparation for students and faculty at Charlotte Country Day School. You will plan and lead culinary operations, develop menus, coordinate with district managers, and guide kitchen staff to deliver high-end school dining experiences.

Certification and 3+ years of culinary management are required; education-dining experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Certification by a recognized culinary institution or equivalent education/experience.
  • At least three years of culinary management experience.
  • Experience in high-end catering operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: at least one year in Education dining services.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise culinary operations of retail and catering services.
  • Plan menus based on market trends, customer preferences, and nutritional considerations.
  • Confer with district managers or other departments regarding daily aspects of dining service.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced, motivated Campus Chef to our Independent School Dining team in Charlotte. As a campus chef, you will have the opportunity to supervise and participate in the preparation of meals for students & faculty.

What you'll be doing:
  • Planning, organizing, and supervising culinary operations of retail and catering services.
  • Planning menus based on various factors, such as market trends, customer preferences, and nutritional considerations.
  • Conferring with district managers or other departments regarding daily aspects of dining service.
  • Directing and coordinating the work of kitchen staff.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • Certification by a recognized culinary institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three years’ experience in culinary management.
  • Previous experience working in high-end catering operations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves:

  • At least one years’ experience working in Education dining services
