Job summary

North Carolina Central University is seeking a Chaplain to join a team of chaplains and collaborate with the Coordinator Spiritual Development and Dialogue, interfaith ambassadors, and the Diversity and Inclusion office to enhance interfaith understanding, education, and student support.

The role provides spiritual care and counseling to students, leads prayer and meditation services, and coordinates faith-based programs campus-wide, including crisis intervention during difficult times and

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds including nationality, race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and religious background.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and manage faith-based educational and social programs with the Office of Spiritual Development and Dialogue, including events, workshops, and services.
• Initiate new programming as needed and support student and faculty-led programming efforts.
• Provide spiritual care and counseling to NCCU students during personal and emotional challenges.
• Lead prayer and meditation services in group and one-on-one settings.
• Provide crisis intervention during times of death and other tragic events and support students and families in crisis.
