Job summary

University of California, Santa Barbara's Campus Catering unit seeks a seasoned Campus Catering Supervisor to lead event planning, staffing, and on-site management. You will supervise student staff, manage budgets, and ensure exemplary service for campus events, dining and conferences.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ServSafe certification within 90 days, and the ability to work Tue-Sat, with flexible hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years demonstrated ability to organize and manage events with high standards, including staff supervision.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises catering services for events ranging from 10-5000 guests.
• Develops event sheets and adjusts guest count, timing, dietary needs, or special requests.
• Oversees equipment and decor for events including service ware, linens, and beverages.
• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates Student Supervisory staff.
• Coordinates staffing schedules and labor costs to meet event needs.
• Acts as on-site catering manager for high-profile events and ensures safety and sanitation standards.
